Percy pig turned 25 years old this July, yep, a whole quarter of a century! The classic sweets have been around since I was six years old so it’s safe to say that I’ve enjoyed a fair few of them in my time! It is incredibly hard to resist picking up a packet every time you pop into M&S…
Percy pig was born on the 23rd July 1992 and has had many adventures since then! In 2013 he met the love of his life, Penny. In 2014 he took a gap year and traveled the world, making friends with tigers and pandas, and in 2015 he and Penny welcomed the arrival of some very sweet little piglets of their own. There is even a vegetarian gelatin-free version of Percy so that everyone can enjoy them
To celebrate this milestone occasion, Marks & Spencer have come up with a range of inventive recipes using Percy pigs; there is a fantastic looking ‘Percy Pig on the beach’ cocktail which uses Percy pig infused vodka shaken up with fruit juices to make a tempting cocktail; a prawn cocktail with Percy pig jelly (I’m less sure about that one but I’m willing to give it a try!), and a delicious lemon and mandarin Percy posset. The videos for all of the recipes are below, enjoy!
Percy pig sweets are a type of pig-shaped gummy sweets made exclusively for Marks & Spencer; find out more about Percy Pig and what he’s gotten up to in his two and a half decades here.
