New potato, caramelised onion, rosemary & gruyère pizza

Our kitchen renovation is coming along well, if a little slowly. We now actually have a sink downstairs (having to go all the way up to the third floor to get water was getting rather tiring and it made it so much more difficult to make a cup of tea than it should be!), we have done most of the hard labour, and I had a shiny new range cooker installed yesterday. Pretty much all that is left to do is painting and tiling, as well as the monumental task of organising all of my baking supplies and photography props… (more…)

The other day I shared my recipe for tangzhong burger buns and promised I would be sharing a burger recipe to go with them; well here it is – sun-dried tomato chickpea burgers. These are totally vegetarian/vegan burgers that are easy to make, delicious and very satisfying. I served the burgers alongside some amazing home-made beer battered onion rings which were utterly addictive and so much better than shop bought ones. (more…)

Semolina And Rosemary Bread

Semolina and rosemary bread made with honey and olive oilThis bread should have made it onto the blog over a month ago but I had somewhat of an error of judgement when it came to the shaping of it… I was aiming for a spiral, but what came out of the oven looked, and there is no other way of putting this, like a giant turd…It was at once hilariously funny, and incredibly frustrating as the bread tasted amazing, but there was no way I could post it, it just looked too unseemly. I resolved to bake it again, with a little more thought to the shaping of the loaf…. (more…)
