Last week I was lucky enough to be invited along to a blogger Christmas party hosted by HomeSense, who sell the most gorgeous and eclectic homeware. It was hosted in The Lost and Found cocktail bar in Birmingham (my home town), in “The Bar Behind The Bookcase” – a lovely little private bar and function room hidden away behind, you guessed it, a bookcase. The event was a chance for Homesense to show off a few key pieces from their fantastic Christmas range, and for the bloggers to mingle and get to know each other a bit better.
We were served as much prosecco (adorned with edible flowers and raspberries) and wine as we could drink; and there was a delicious selection of canapes to nibble on, including some very addictive spicy potato wedges and gooey brownies. The HomeSense products were truly beautiful and quirky and I would have happily carted the whole lot off home if I could.
The product range focused on metallics with shades of bronze, copper, silver and gold; there was a strong focus on natural features – antlers, leaves, wolves and deer all featured heavily. The range felt opulent yet rustic and would certainly make a dinner party or Christmas lunch feel truly special. My particular favourite pieces were the two tier serving platters and the wolf head cocktail shaker, although to be honest I really liked all of it! The pieces were all not only beautiful but surprisingly affordable too; I actually happen to do quite a lot of my Christmas present shopping in HomeSense as they have such a wide range of lovely yet inexpensive things and I will definitely be popping in this year in search of gifts (for myself…).
